Stamptivity (https://stamptivity.app) is a free, browser-based tool. This page explains what data we collect and how we use it. We believe in keeping things simple and transparent.

The Short Version

Your files never leave your device. GPX files, photos, and any content you work with in Stamptivity are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers. We do not have access to your activity data or images.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people use Stamptivity. This helps us improve the tool and understand which features are most useful.

What GA4 collects on our behalf:

Pages visited and time spent on the site
General geographic region (country or city level, not precise location)
Device type, browser, and operating system
Anonymised events such as "template selected" or "file exported"

This data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify you individually from this data.

Analytics only runs if you consent. On your first visit we ask whether it's okay to use analytics cookies (see "Cookies" below). Until you accept, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless, consent-denied mode and does not set its _ga cookies. You can change your answer at any time, see "Cookies" below, or the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by using a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts.

Local Storage

Stamptivity stores data locally in your browser to improve your experience:

Session state, your current editor state (widgets, layout, settings) so it persists if you reload the page
Saved presets, custom layouts you save within the app

This data is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or site data.

Roadmap: Suggestions & Voting

The public roadmap lets you suggest features and vote on ideas. Here's what that stores on our servers:

Suggestions, the title and details you write are stored and, after review, shown publicly. Suggesting is anonymous by default.
Your name (optional), if you leave one, it's shown publicly next to your idea once the idea is approved.
Your email (optional), if you leave one, it is never shown publicly and is used for one thing only: letting you know when your idea ships. We don't add it to any mailing list.
Votes, stored against a random identifier generated in your browser, not your name or account (there are no accounts).

To limit abuse, we keep a one-way hash of the submitting IP address alongside suggestions and votes; the address itself is not stored. Want a suggestion, name or email removed? Email us (see "Contact" below) and we'll delete it.

Community gallery submissions

You can share a public link to an image or video, with an optional title and credit name. We store the link and the details you provide so we can review the submission. Approved links and any title or name you share appear publicly in the gallery. The image or video stays on the site where you originally shared it, and we do not upload or host media.

We keep a one-way hash of the submitting IP address to help limit abuse. The address itself is not stored. Email us (see "Contact" below) to have a submission or credit name removed.

Some image and video links can appear in an embedded preview. Your browser loads that preview directly from the original platform, which may receive standard connection data such as your IP address. Other links open on their original site.

Feedback

When you send feedback from the in-app form, we receive and store:

Your message, and whether it is a bug report, a feature idea or general feedback.
Your email (optional), only if you leave one. It is used only to reply to you.
Context added automatically, the page you sent it from (the path only, never a query string), your browser's user-agent text and your country, derived from your connection.
Technical details (optional), only if you tick "Include technical details". The form shows exactly what is sent before you press Send.

The message is emailed to us and saved so we can follow up. Saved feedback is deleted automatically 90 days after you send it. We do not store your IP address with feedback. Want a message removed sooner? Email us (see "Contact" below) and we'll delete it.

Cookies

We ask before any non-essential cookie is set. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (not a cookie itself) so we don't ask again on every visit.

Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*), set by Google Analytics only after you accept, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you reject or haven't answered yet, these are never set.

We don't run advertising today. If that changes, this section will be updated first and a separate advertising-cookie choice will be added, it won't be folded silently into the analytics choice above.

Third-Party Services

Stamptivity is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) as part of serving the site. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.

The forms on the site (roadmap suggestions, gallery sharing and feedback) are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check that runs when a form opens. Cloudflare processes signals from your browser to tell people from automated traffic, under the same policy.

Children's Privacy

Stamptivity is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
