Export GPX from Wahoo ELEMNT: Step-by-Step Guide

Download your Wahoo ELEMNT ride as a GPX file in minutes. Works with all ELEMNT models. Use it for GPS video overlays, stats cards, or route analysis.

Wahoo ELEMNT cycling computers and the Wahoo Fitness app sync your activities to the cloud, but the Wahoo app and website don't offer a direct GPX export button. The two reliable paths both go through something else: a connected platform, or the raw file on the device itself.

What You'll Need

  • Either a Wahoo account connected to Strava or Garmin Connect, or
  • A USB cable and your ELEMNT device

Method 1: Export via a Connected Platform (easiest)

Wahoo automatically syncs activities to Strava and Garmin Connect if you've connected those accounts. Export the GPX from whichever one you use:

One caveat: if Strava applies its own elevation correction on import, the exported GPX reflects Strava's elevation, not your ELEMNT's barometric reading.

Method 2: USB — the direct-from-device method

If you're not connected to Strava or Garmin, get the raw file straight off the ELEMNT:

  1. Connect your ELEMNT to your computer with a USB cable
  2. Open the device as a drive and browse to the Activities folder
  3. Copy the .fit file for your ride
  4. Convert it to GPX with Stamptivity Convert — free, runs in your browser, no upload

This is the file exactly as your ELEMNT recorded it, before any third-party platform touches it.

Once you have the .gpx file:

  • Stats photo → Open Stamptivity Stamp, drop in the GPX file, pick a template, add your photo, and export as JPG.

Tips

  • Power data from a Wahoo KICKR or power meter is included in Wahoo's activity files, and Stamptivity reads it — power shows up alongside distance, speed, elevation, heart rate, time, and cadence.
  • If a ride was done indoors on a trainer, GPS coordinates may be absent and the map widget won't render — but all other stats will still display.
